Nelson Photo Workshop Review
I had such a great time in San Diego giving a workshop at Nelson Photo and thanks to Olympus tech rep Ray Acevedo for driving me around and giving me a quick tour of San Diego. I take for granted living near water, but these folks take for granted living near warm water!
Additional thanks to the staff at Nelson Photo Supplies who hosted us and organized the event. They . Family owned and operated since 1950, Nelson Photo sell great cameras (and accessories) and offer insight, but hosting these photos classes really help their clients learn what their cameras are capable of. It was great to see the owner out there getting hands-on with the gear so that when folks come into the store and ask questions, he doesn't give a canned answer but knows from experience shooting with the camera.
Also big thanks to Chula Vista Fútbol Club for scrimmaging for our crew of photographers after having played a competitive game that morning.
I'm nearly always photographing games that "count" so it was a real treat to photograph a scrimmage and see how much they just LOVE playing soccer with their friends.
The real superstar of the scrimmage though was this littler brother who was very serious about his job retrieving errant balls. Darting past the soccer moms, into the parking lot, and bringing the ball back to the big boys.
So sweet. These moments remind me how much joy sports can bring to people.
