M + J Engagement
After covering his sister's wedding last year, I was so pleased to be called back to cover Matt and Jessica's wedding this year, which will be one day shy of a year from his sister's wedding! But first, engagement photos!
Just as his sister and her husband had wanted to focus on his guitar playing because music played a big part in their relationship, Matt and Jessica wanted to poke fun on their relationship starting when he, self-described "gringo" spoke little Spanish and she, a visiting au pair, pretended to not speak English. So they came up with him holding a "Spanish for Dummies" book as a playful addition to their engagement photos.
As the story goes, he tried to talk to her at bar, she pretended to not understand English so that he wouldn't talk to (read: bother) her. But as the bar was closing he asked her to allow him to show her his salsa moves (read: he had none) and when she obliged (with an eye roll) he gave her a twirl, went down on a knee and kissed her hand (he may have had some liquid courage). As silly as she thought he was, it was endearing enough that she gave him her phone number and as they say, the rest is history.
He has since enrolled in Spanish classes and salsa classes to try and woo her and she seemed quite pleased with his progress.
Oh the things we do to get the person we love!
I'm so looking forward to covering their wedding!
And at this rate, I'm also looking forward to covering the remaining two brothers weddings maybe in 2018 and 2019 and the next Mrs. Banks! ;)
